Molly turns 3!!

Tater is three!!! This birthday has been anticipated all week, like every good birthday should!
Where do I begin and were do I stop with you? You are my sweet Tater that loves sweet taters, you have always been easy to please and, up until this two year old stage, not at all dramatic! You are my talker, telling me in full detail about everything that interests you, you love to cuddle, especially with 'Your' Dad. You think, most of the time, that Maggie is an awesome big sister. It has been a fun thing to watch you become a big girl that can play dolls with the best of them, and hold your own when it comes to picking which ones you get to play with! When I ask you 'Molly, who loves you?' your answer comes quickly and very sure, 'My Daddy does!', or 'My Papa does!', or 'My Bo does!' , and usually in that order! Molly, you love your big guys and I want you to know how blessed you are to have such awesome 'big guys' to love!
You are our singer, from the time you were little we could turn on music and the body was moving and the mouth was jabbering. You have an amazing ability to remember so many lyrics to songs and belt them out with confidence as soon as you hear the intro to a song! I want you to know how many times you have brought 'happy tears' to the eyes of your Daddy and I when we listen to your sweet voice in the back of the car. You love purple, your thumb that tastes like vanilla, your purple binky blanket (Krissi asked her what she does with binky and Molly replied 'It's just for smelling'), and your bottom bunk. Molly Tate Green you are the prettiest Molly we ever have seen, Happy Birthday!
Molly has been on a cookie kick lately and it seems like everytime we ask what she would like to eat, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it's cookies. Now we don't feed her cookies for every meal but I thought it would be fun to make her sugar cookies for her birthday instead of the usual cake and now a new tradition is made, I think it will be cookies on every birthday for her!

All of the kids drew Molly their own version of Ariel, they did this on their own and I hadn't seen them. I am always in awe of how thoughtful they can be (most of the time)!

Thanks Aunt Lori, Uncle Greg, and Clan for some much needed reading material!

Bo is good in all areas, playing peek-a-boo and helping with the bubble blowing!

All great birthdays usually have at least one meltdown...........

Which leads to a sound sleep, GREAT Birthday, Check!

Tallis turns 1!!!

Oh Tallis Rose, my sweet girl. This year has flown by, like they all do and will. You are my 'go-getter' and I'm not sure that you ever slow down! You were standing in your bassinet at 5 months, walking (or running) at 10 months and I have so enjoyed this year of trying to keep up with you. I have not always beat you to the toilet (fishing bowl), I have learned that you just REALLY like to be up where all of the action is, you should never be let out of a diaper, you have an awesome sense of humor, the BEST hair ever, and Grandpa Earl is smiling just seeing your face. You have been some very amazing moral support when I needed it, been a blessing and a gift in the midst of lifes storms, I cannot imagine our lives without you in it. Your brothers and sisters love and adore your sweet face, I can only imagine how much fun these next years are going to be! We love you, Happy Birthday.

New Jammies make a Girl Happy

Grandma and Papa brought new jammies to the girls and we caught a few happy faces in those comfy new jams!

I Didn't Even Know You Could Read!!

Out of the mouths of babes...........
Craig got home from work on this particular afternoon and Maggie just had to show him the books that she 'bought' at the library. She showed her Dad this book and he graciously offered to read it to her. She responded with nodding and giggling, so Craig started to read. I think it came about half way through the book when she had her hand laid sweetly on his shoulder. 'Dad, I didn't even know you could read!' Oh Maggie, how we love your quips!! Yes, your Daddy can read, what a blessing!! The picture of him reading in their room just proves how fun it is when Dad does the reading!

So glad I don't have pictures!

My intentions were good, I was on a quest. A few weeks back I noticed some awesome hanging displays in Target and got the notion in my head that when the time came for them to change out, wouldn't it be great if I could score some of those displays? I even went as far as to leave my name and number, if and when that time came. Well yesterday it came, I received a phone call saying that the 'Awesome' displays would be held for Missy Green for 24 hours! Yesterday, I must note, was also the day that Craig got a call that his timber falling expertise was needed and he would be heading back to work. So yesterday was a day full of saw work, preparation, cleaning house, and all around getting things in order for both of our quests.

Craig woke up at 2:30 a.m. and was on the road by 3:00. I was able to get a few more hours of sleep, my children are unknowingly grateful for this! I got up, fixed breakfast, dressed children, dressed self, sent kids to school, and followed shortly because Sawyer was getting an award. Krissi offered to keep children so that I could head down to pick up my huge flowers and I cannot even begin to express what a huge blessing that was. As we headed out on the freeway Maggie and Molly were discussing where we should eat lunch on this 'Girl Day of Ours'! Maggie was laying out our day, just like a girl. "First we will go to Target and get our flowers, and then we will eat lunch, and then we go to Ross and shop, and then maybe back to Target for more shopping, and we don't even have any boys to complain!". And complain they would!! So we had a our day laid out and it was going rather smoothly unitl, oh yes, UNTIL........

We had gone into Ross and all was normal, and by normal I mean, Maggie and Molly were weaving in and out of the racks and their hair looked like you had rubbed it with a balloon, they were starting to look, shall we say 'rough'. About this time Molly starts to whimper and tell me that her guts hurt, a sure sign that she is in need of a restroom. Easy enough, we head to the back of the store and Maggie volunteers to go first. The cart will not go into the bathroom so Maggie says, "I'm fine, I can go by myself and even wash my hands", good enough for me. A few minutes later, and with a locked door between us, Maggie starts yelling for me. I go to the door and as quietly as I can ask what is wrong, "I have poop stuck in my butt and I need your help" she yells. I look to the dressing room attendant a little apologetically and tell Maggie to unlock the door so I can 'help'. That situation taken care of we move on to Molly. I cannot say that I blame her, she does not like pooping in public places. I knew that she needed to go but she was crying and insisting that she did NOT need to go. So there we sat for the better part of a half hour. She won, she refused to go. We loaded back into the cart and headed toward the front of the store. I paid for my things and as the cashier was handing me my bag Molly starts crying and grabbing her stomach and screams......"I'm pooping in the store!" I grab her up and quickly head to the car thinking if I'm fast enough at least we have diapers. I was not fast enough and I felt so bad for her as she was rattling off how she needed an M&M when she poops at home but she didn't like going in the store. We cleaned her up and the whole time Maggie was telling her how sorry she was that she had an accident, she really was being the sweet big sister. We now had to remedy the fact that Molly had no pants so we headed back in, this time wearing a diaper and a sweatshirt, to find her some jeans. Since I was packing both Tallis and Molly at this point I told Maggie to stick close in the parking lot. She just turned and said so matter of factly "I know, I'm not scared of anything but bears and being run over!" God knew that I needed that laugh at exactly that moment. So what that all we had gotten accomplished up to that point was lunch and picking up my car load of displays. I am blessed, I have been given so much, and I am truly thankful for these little faces the Lord has given me. Quest accomplished!!

Fancy Tea Party!!

ALL of us dressed up!!

Dancing Girls!

Maggie Shay

Molly Tate

Tallis Rose
Piper and her fancy pinky.

Tallis, Maggie, Piper, and Molly.
I have said this before but flying by the seat of your pants has the best view!! We had a spontaneous 'Fancy Tea Party' tonight. Krissi offered to swap my boys for Piper, she would take all of the boys to basketball practice and I would keep all of the girls at my house. What a perfect opportunity for ALL things girly! I whipped up some home made pudding and some heart shaped biscuits for our party and set to getting all of us dressed up FANCY!! Yeah, you heard that right, ALL of us, I also dressed up fancy! Sidon said it looked like I was ready for church and Sawyer just laughed. Krissi also laughed! It was very fun to have pudding with whipped cream and pink sprinkles and water in special tea cups. Piper demonstrated how to properly hold one's pinky up while eating pudding, Molly grabbed her teacup, pounded the table with her fist, and yelled 'Down the Hatch!', Maggie showed everyone how to pose for the photo opp, and Tallis Rose was content to eat biscuits! That is all of these girls showing exactly who they are!! Girly and dainty, loud and hilarious, entertaining and center of attention, and content and happy! The girls danced in the bedroom under the princess light and had a blast. What a fun memory for me!

Happy New Year

Life is simple and blessings are great. I'm sorry to all my blog checkers that it has been so long since my last post. Christmas has flown by, with great pictures that are on Grandma's computer, and the new year has arrived. We had to reflect on this last year and although there were was quite a list, I still think that the blessings out numbered the bad.
I have a Heavenly Father that I am close to and talk to daily, I have parents that are the best ever, I love AND like my guy, I have five children that make me laugh and frustrate me all at the same time, I know what the true meaning of family is, I know that this life is my story (and it is a great one), I know how to swallow pride (Maggie told me 'You just chomp it up into little tiny bits and then you swallow'), new haircuts will make you Christmas ready, good friends are priceless, a three bedroom-one bathroom home is perfect, home birth is awesome, fresh clean sheets are always good, groceries taste better with coupons, the Lord will always give you what you need, and the greatest of these is Love.
