What do you want from me!

Molly has got this uncanny way of making herself understood

without being able to talk! The looks she gives and the ability to

move her eyebrows in every direction never cease to amaze me!

Jam Session

What started out to be a distraction for Molly while I did laundry ( the never-ending job of every mother) turned into a very loud, and rowdy jam session on every tupperware container the kids could find. Of course, the first 2 minutes were fun but ultimately they began fighting over who got which 'spanking spoon' to drum with! Sidon stayed out of this drumming dilema by sticking to his tinker-toy guitar. I love watching imaginative play from my children and I absolutely cannot stand listening to them fight!! Ahh if they could only be smart and creative and loving ALL the time. Can you imagine all of the lessons that our children, and us parents, would miss out on if it weren't for conflict! The Lord teaches me about patience every day and I pray that in turn my children will learn to be compassionate and forgiving of one another.

Danielson Band look out! In our house it's
more like 'Did I step on your fingers!'

Molly

I'm trying to get all these blogging things figured out so you will have to bear with me. There is no sound to this but Molly was jamming to some tunes and I thought it would make a good first attempt at uploading a video.

A little snow

Soooo it snowed a little! In my maturity I have grown to be less fond of snow than in my younger days. We used to get excited about being pulled wildly through the alfalfa field behind the three-wheeler. The best was hiding behind the shrubs around the house and waiting for that perfect opportunity to attack the sibling, or neighbor kid, that happened to be on the tube at the time. As I pulled on my boots and gloves to take shovel in hand and attack the 'ice burm' that the city plows leave behind our vehicles in their wake, I have to admit I had little of that childhood excitement! What happened was that in that half hour of shoveling, slipping, falling, and sweating I had an awakening. I had time to think and to pray and to enjoy the feel of the sun in the winter. I know it dosen't sound magical, what with the sweating and all, but it felt good to do something as mindless as shoveling the driveway. Sidon came out to join me and ask questions about things that four year olds need to know. 'Why is there cat poop in these rocks?' and 'Why are you throwing all the snow out into the road?' The answer to the first was to just get away from said cat poop and find some clean snow for his boots and the second, let's just say that the snowplow doesn't get tired arms! I wouldn't say that I'm ready for another snow storm but there is something to be said for enjoying what the Lord lays at your feet.

My little tree in the front yard is all but buried.
That's a big change in four months!

Helpful Kids

I must remember to thank the Lord for all of the small blessings that come with each day. My children can frustrate me to tears and other times make me feel so blessed to be allowed to be their mom. I'm sure that anyone who has had experience with bunk beds will tell you that changing sheets is somewhat of a cardio workout. Molly was not enjoying sitting in her crib watching me wrestle the sheets back on to the boys bed and was letting me know about it. Sawyer organized a puppet show for her to keep her laughing until I was done. It was the most helpful thing he could have done, and whether I am a little emotional this week, it pleased me to tears.

Molly was gut laughing at the kids and their performance!

We have the most amazing Grandma in the world! Sawyer and Sidon went with Grandma Mary to Ski Swap in Boise and got geared up for ski season at Tamarack. Over the last three days the boys have been being groomed into Grandma's skiing buddies. Sawyer thinks that he could just quit school and go to ski school and it would be a good trade! He told Grandma that she had turned him into 'a skiing mess'. After three days Sidon said tonight that his whole body was sore and he was given a dose of Tylenol. Welcome to sore muscles and extreme sports! Sidon had a little harder time listening to instruction and was ratted on by his big brother. I think about half way through their lesson Sidon dismissed himself and was making two runs for every one the class did. He had to start taking direction so that he could go on the chair lift, it must have been good motivation. Sawyer is always thinking things through and he had to let Grandma know that if he had fallen out of the chair lift he possibly could have broken his arm. I'm so grateful that the boys will have these great memories shared with Grandma and Papa!

This is called 'The Magic Carpet' but Sidon informed me that there was nothing magic about it!

'Icicles bigger than Me'

Bo went out and trudged through the snow to find an icicle taller than Maggie! The look on her face says it all! Bo didn't want to be in the picture but with the snow as a background you couldn't see how tall the icicle was. It has been quiet the last few days as Sawyer and Sidon are hanging out with Grandma Mary skiing. I am missing the boys and looking forward to all their stories that I know they will have!

I cannot imagine life without Bo here to be such a good big brother to all the little guys. I am extremely blessed to have such great bonus kids.
