A little snow

Soooo it snowed a little! In my maturity I have grown to be less fond of snow than in my younger days. We used to get excited about being pulled wildly through the alfalfa field behind the three-wheeler. The best was hiding behind the shrubs around the house and waiting for that perfect opportunity to attack the sibling, or neighbor kid, that happened to be on the tube at the time. As I pulled on my boots and gloves to take shovel in hand and attack the 'ice burm' that the city plows leave behind our vehicles in their wake, I have to admit I had little of that childhood excitement! What happened was that in that half hour of shoveling, slipping, falling, and sweating I had an awakening. I had time to think and to pray and to enjoy the feel of the sun in the winter. I know it dosen't sound magical, what with the sweating and all, but it felt good to do something as mindless as shoveling the driveway. Sidon came out to join me and ask questions about things that four year olds need to know. 'Why is there cat poop in these rocks?' and 'Why are you throwing all the snow out into the road?' The answer to the first was to just get away from said cat poop and find some clean snow for his boots and the second, let's just say that the snowplow doesn't get tired arms! I wouldn't say that I'm ready for another snow storm but there is something to be said for enjoying what the Lord lays at your feet.

My little tree in the front yard is all but buried.
That's a big change in four months!
