Working with Dad

Sidon thinks, like most boys do, that his Dad is awesome and everything that he does is awesome. Craig has been working on the Danzco for the last two days and Sidon was begging to go to the shop and help. This morning Craig admitted that he probably did need the help of his five year old tough kid so Sidon got to go. He had to plan out his outfit, which work clothes with which work hat. He came in a handful of times to consult me on what I thought would work best. It was fun to see him so excited to be a big guy! He started the day by helping Craig look for a part in the garage and in his rumaging he came across 'a chainsaw just his size', he assured me that if it ran he could go to the woods and help Craig fall timber! That time will come faster than I think, in the meantime I'm so thankful for all the little memories we get to be a part of.

Sidon and his treasure!
Heading out with a lunchbox and a smile!

Birthday in the Woods!

Happy Birthday Sawyer! On Sunday Sawyer turned 7 (He also shares his birthday with Uncle Levi and Aunt Sacha). We spent the day up at Brundage riding equipment and getting wood logs for the football team. I'm glad that kids are easily entertained and having lunch on the job was a treat! In the evening we had Grandma Nelma, Grandma Mary, and Papa Derry over for stuffed manicotti (Sawyers request), cake and ice cream. It was a fun exhausting day!

Smed is 7 and tough!
Craig sorting logs. I liked this one of Craig helping Maggie out of the Cat.
The boys got to ride in Jezabel ( the loader).

I had to take a pic of the log loader going by the ski lift!
Climbing out, watch that first step, It's A Doozy! All day Maggie kept saying 'I'm being a Logging Girl!' She was so excited to get a ride in Mrs. Potts ( the Cat). When we got home she informed Grandma Nelma that she drove the Cat and went pee in the woods! I'm sure that definately qualifies as being a logging girl!

Playing with Legos (Grandma Nelma helped)!
Sawyers Cake!

I have no picture to put to these words because my blogging can only go so far. I had an opportunity ( or so I thought) to call Melissa today and chat for just a bit before I had to walk down to the school to pick up Sawyer. Not long into the conversation I heard Sidon coming down the hall crying and saying ' I'm sorry Mom, I didn't know it would stick.' He rounded the corner and what met my eyes I can honestly say was a new one. He and Maggie had gotten some bubble gum from the stash of parade candy and after getting his nice and soft, and sticky, he had stretched it into a long rope of sorts and wrapped it around his neck. I would like to see into the mind of a five year old and know how that train got rolling. I told Melissa we had a 'situation' that needed my immediate attention. As any who are familiar with the Green genetic knows, the hair grows in abundance, everywhere! Poor Sidon had gum stuck in all the those little hairs around his whole neck and try as I might to be careful he let out a scream with every little piece of gum I could actually get pulled off. After watching Food Detectives just yesterday on how best to get gum out of hair we tried their best alternative, cooking oil. So now I have a crying greasy child and it is 2:40 and school gets out at 3:00. I put him in the tub and wiped as gently as I could at the remaining sticky strands. His neck was starting to look horrible and red so we decided to just wear off the rest. Out of the bath, into clothes and a little Neosporin for the road and we headed down to the school. As we walked home I had to laugh, as I will many times when I think of this story, I asked Sidon if he learned anything about gum and his reply was, 'It only belongs in your mouth!'. Lesson learned!

Tater 'Really' Walking!

She has finally mastered it! I bounced around a little trying to follow her pinball moves around the living room furniture. She landed in just the right spot, with her binky and her 'beloved' (her thumb)!

Little Helpers

I had to take a picture of the kids helping tonight. I asked them to shuck the corn so Sidon pulled up the chairs so they wouldn't get exhausted with all that standing.

Enjoying each day focusing on what the Lord IS doing. Thanks Mom.

Black Lake

We decided to make a spur of the moment trip up to Black Lake on Saturday afternoon and it was such a blessing. We made some sandwiches and loaded up the cooler, threw in the fishing poles and were on our way! Mom and Dad happened to show up just as we were loading up so they ran home and changed and followed us up. We spent the whole afternoon enjoying the view and letting the kids play in that ice cold water! As I was 'bathing' them in the lake I made the comment that maybe this was as close to camping as I could do! We didn't catch any fish but we skipped quite a few rocks and had a good time. It was a good memory day!

Bath Time!

Four kids in the tub, four kids in the tub. Lots of soap and lots of suds.
As long as their happy and getting clean,
not crying, fighting or being mean,
We are blessed to have a cramped little tub
that is filled to the brim with sibling love!
