The River...............

We make a trek down to the river during the summer that ends with ice cream cones at the Dog House (Burger's and More) compliments of the local library. That was this day in pictures (minus the messy ice cream pictures)!

Watermelon Boxes.................

We scored this sweet box at Ronnie's. My kids have been begging me all summer to get them a watermelon box from the store so they could turn it into a house. Today was that day!

Huckleberries at Lost Lake...............

It's part of summer. Raspberries, huckleberries, blackberries, all picked fresh! Our new mantra is 'Fun is what you make it'. We pick raspberries at Aunt Rita's. We pick blackberries at Jerry's Place. We pick huckleberries at Lost Lake. We are blessed to have huckleberries within a short drive of our home and we made a fun excursion of it. On the way home we drove down Lost Creek and through Fruitvale. We ate trail mix and listened to Tater's song REALLLY loud and fun was what we made it.

Buried at the Playground.............

This just made me want Sawyer to go home and take a shower but they all seemed to be having fun doing it!!

Splash Party....................

We had the end of summer reading splash party in the park and these are just a few of the pictures. Krissi made a 'kid wash' out of PVC pipe and it was a huge hit! A very fun day!

Tallis is ready......

Greasy Fair Burgers and Snow Cones........

I love the Fair. Mind you, our Fair is small and the Greens make up a large portion of the open exhibit entries (leave it to the big families in this town to keep art alive!). We went on Friday night and had dinner and checked out the exhibits and topped it off with snow cones and a visit to the small and large animal barns. The boys climbed the rock wall that the National Guard brought in and were able to ride the mechanical bull. All four of the big kids went with Grandma and Papa to the rodeo and we got a night to visit without interruption, did I mention that I love the Fair?!

Tallis was sooooo excited to see the horses and Jessica Bauer obliged her with a front row seat to all the action!

Preparing for fair.........

The mad dash of creativity, the smell of markers, the mess of water color paints, and the Mom that is really glad to have (almost) all of the fair projects done for yet another year! We had some really fun entries this year and I am going to somehow come up with a clever way of taking pictures of a few that have survived the weeks of my blog snubbing (don't be offended, I meant my own blog!). I need to learn from a good friend and take pictures when we bring stuff home from the fair!
Maybe I will have a follow up post to this...........
